Hello Ray, The location of coast stations is known, ships can be anywhere (unless you look up their positions with specialized ship-tracking software or AIS websites. Logs from coast stations are picked up from the list here by the RNA/REU admins, and are entered in the databases of: http://www.classaxe.com/dx/ndb/rna/signal_list for North America, and in http://www.classaxe.com/dx/ndb/reu/signal_list for Europe. These are great searchable databases! The STATS tab in YaDD will produce a _unique_ list of coast stations received, by frequency, and as such cannot be used as a log. For a data/time/dist/etc.. log, see the instruction on YaDD's RNA/REU tab: - Go to the Log tab, - Shift + left-click on the UTC field of the log entry you wish to report Each click will add a report line to the log. The log is freely editable, and can be saved to file or copied to the clipboard for subsequent reporting. Cheers -
Dirk

Hi Ray. I believe most folks generally only post logs of the coastal stations. I doubt anyone would mind log posts of ships also. I am a newbie DSC DXer (thanks to Dirk's YaDD!), so am still busy logging and QSLing the coastal stations. I could see myself starting to work on ship QSLs once I have exhausted the easier stuff.

I am wondering if the lists we receive are just base stations and no ships included. (yep, I'm a newbie) If that is the case, here is the list of base stations I received overnight from Brisbane, Australia. Dirk, how is the list you send generated with date, time distance etc as this is all that comes up when I go to STATS?
12577.0KHz:5 -------------- COAST,003669991,USA,COMMSTA Boston COAST,003669993,HWA,CAMSPAC Honolulu COAST,004122100,CHN,Shanghai Radio COAST,005030001,AUS,Charleville / Wiluna Radio COAST,005120010,NZL,Taupo Radio The all inclusive log is enormous. I only use 1 frequency as I am also running DSCDecoder 24/7 on the same computer which automatically uploads the results to my web site. |
