Recently, one of us was reviewing Pleurosira on Diatoms of North America and noticed that the terms ocelli and orbicular were not in the glossary. Through the public contact form he requested that they be added.

Based on the request of member Peter Hallett, Diatoms of North America (diatoms.org) has added two new terms, ocellus and pseudocellus [1]. Each term is part of the suite of porefield terms, which is included at the bottom of each term.

Diatoms of North America (diatoms.org) has added the new term, "copula", to its glossary, after a public request from Marseille, France (1). The definition includes an excellent diagram showing this part of the diatom cell wall.

Recently I prepared two lists of the glossary terms exported from Diatoms of North America (1). They are available in a public google drive (2) and will be updated occasionally.
