There is a thread in an EFHW antenna Facebook group talking about our Mini Wire Antenna. K1RF Steve pointed out one thing that 2T:14T might not be good for a small size toroid, and it is recommended to wind 3T:21T to add inductance to help the lower band like 40m.

I agree with his point and it is recommended that you follow by rewinding your toroid. Also, if you have FT-82-43 in hand, you can consider upgrade by winding on two of them, same 3T:21T, to add power.

Sorry for the trouble caused, although in many of my test SWR for 2T:14T is under 1.5. I believe K1RF’s recommendation is helpful.

Hi Adam - do you mean stack two FT-82-43 on top of one another to make a thicker “O” and winding around both? Or winding each individually and putting them in parallel?
