I also have just finished the kit did a set up with dummy load and put it on the air.
Receiving signals from all over have only made a few contacts with it but Antenna is located in the attic and had a learning curve with the software.
Great little kit would recommend it to anyone that enjoys kit building and wants to try FT8.

It is quite fast considering it is not express shipping. I visited New England about 10 years ago when I was working for Sun Microsystems Inc. I did visit the HRO store in Salem and enjoyed the visit there.

Bret,

Congratulations on the success of building the kit. The strong signal you see on the spectrum is called Intermodulation Distortion (IMD). It is mainly caused by over driving the mixer stage. For the simplicity, let's stay with it but you can improve it by changing C5 from 104 to 105.

My CRKits D4D-20m is up and running! I’m using my G5RV antenna 150ft from my house and getting spots in NH (Northeast USA) all the way out to Texas and California - pretty good on what must be 10s of milliWatts emitted.

I see strong constant signals at exactly 1500 and 3000 on FT8 RX. What might those be and can I suppress them?

For make sure of the first introduction of the Alexloop in Japan and
respect to effort to its introduction,

it was done in 2013 at the QRP Village booth by JA8CCL Mr. Kinoshita.

In spite of his main radio equipment business,
this year he devoted entirely explain the goodness of loop antenna technology.
I supported him and explained my real QSO experience. 

Later, other importers grabbed the item and they are handling as one of their various importing products.
Once I considered to buy another one but it was too expensive to buy. Hihi

If anyone is interested thinginverse has an adapter for the Ryobi 18 volt battery that fits the contacts giving you a nice power supply.

manual states 14V max, happiest at 12V... that said, i run my Xiegu G1M QRP rig off four 18650s...i think you'll find you'll only have ~15V out from your pack... if you're worried, use a charger that indicates percentage, and only charge 'em up to give  you 13V out of your pack?

The mods are good enough. Now you have the flexibility to pursue better IMD if you inject audio just above VOX trigger point, or higher RF output if you increase audio.
