Gang,

I would like to hear from you about the results of your testing. Can you decode FT8? Do you have problems using Choc perfboard?

Thanks,
Adam

Gang,

Today is the first day of the dragon boat holiday here in China. I spent some good time testing HT-1A radio in Century Park of Shanghai. Here I share the video:

Please note that two radios are prototypes so they might not look nice, and the firmware might look different from the final product, but they will be good enough to give you initial impression of the features and performance. In the standard configuration of the product we will not offer speaker or battery pack, but you can add by yourself.

Thanks,
Adam

Gang,

We are working hard to finalize the firmware to improve experience. The first batch of 10 boards are ready. We will arrange SMT and prepare kits shortly. Documentations will be prepared. We will ship the first 10 kits based on the order time. We already have many pending orders so I will let you know when payment can be made before my shipment.

We want to hear from the first batch customers before we place massive production orders. It won't take too long if we pull the trigger but we would rather wait for a satisfying result.

Thanks,
Adam

Now the transfer is completed, much earlier than expected. Please ignore my invitations if you still haven't accepted. You are already in.

I have done necessary steps to inform groups.io to start moving. However, it might take quite some time since the queue is long.

Thanks,

Photo is here:

This is a 20/40m dual bander, CW transmission only but receives SSB as well in a wide range. RF output is about 5 watts. It has a LCD display and big room for battery and speaker adding by end customers. We encourage building so in the kit form, you will need to solder a few through hole parts on the main board with all the SMD parts pre-mounted. Even for the assembled radio, you will be given a blank PCB to install a LM386 amplifier for speaker if you wish to install a speaker by yourself. This board is also for the installation of a battery pack of 3S 18650 Li-ion. As there is problem to ship battery and speaker, both of them will not be offered along with the kit.

The introductory price for kit will be at 125 USD including shipping, and 150 USD for assembled. They will be about 25 USD higher after it is formally sold. You can place email order now. Kits will be shipped in about 10 days.

Thanks,
Adam

Gang,

This product will be released in about a month. It is designed by the designer of HB-1B and will be sold by crkits and distributors only. Mostly in assembled form, but I will offer a few kits with simple instruction manual in this group. You just need to solder a few through hole parts and I built mine in 2 hours. Let me know if you are interested. Price? Cheaper than the assembled radio.

Thanks,
Adam

Efforts to ship faster

Adam Rong

Gang,

I have an over time job and I travel a lot for business. It explains why I ship less often and the average waiting time is long recently.

I made a bit change. I will store a few kits in the warehouse of my shipping agent, so once I receive order, I just give command like “ship parcel A to customer X” and my shipping agent will ship within 24~48 hours.

Currently I have these goods for faster shipping (and the list will change quickly):
FT8 20m receiver kit $9.9 including shipping
FT8 20m receiver kit with antenna $14.9 including shipping
R3500D ARDF receiver (assembled) $39 with free shipping in May
2x choc Perfboards with a metal case $15 each plus $7 shipping

Thanks,
Adam

Limited Time Offer: R3500D free shipping in May

Adam Rong

Gang,

For the assembled R3500D 80-meter ARDF receiver, you buy from http://crkits.com and you get free shipping in May. That is to say, you get one receiver at 39 USD including air shipping.

The R3500D kit is temporary out of stock but you can purchase from my distributors.

Thanks,
Adam

Thanks for your interest. You are in and we still have two beta kits remaining. Also, if you are interested in a wire antenna like this, you can add 5 USD.

Thanks,

Gang,

I have been thinking about making a few board kits based on my Choc Perfboard for a while, and now here it is.

Basically it is designed for 20m FT8 frequency 14.074 MHz USB. There is a frequency fine tune and there is volume control. The antenna connector is an audio connector, but it is good for a 5 meter wire antenna for SW receiver.. The audio output is mono, for audio connection to PC sound card input or headphone monitoring.

It is stable and you can receive a lot of signals, although it looks very simple. I am offering 5 kits for beta testers at $9.9, including all the parts on the board and the battery holder for 4x AA size batteries. You will be also receiving an audio cable for sound card connection. Of course, the air shipping is also included. Sign up for the beta testers offline.

Thanks,
Adam
