Charlie,
Yes, it is a home brew EFHW. The toroid is FT50-43. I wind 3 turns primary, 21 turns secondary. 100p 100V is added. The cost is very low. Thanks, Adam

Re: D4D: First Shipment
Adam Rong
Charlie,
Thanks for the information. Normally it takes 7 days to arrive US West Coast and 14 days to arrive East Coast, so it is within normal range. I am looking forward to your success of building and operating. Also, you are welcome to write review for D4D at: https://www.eham.net/reviews/addreview/14267 BTW, I cannot access my Gmail mailbox from yesterday. I will figure out a way soon. Meanwhile, you can send email to this group if it is not that private. If you place order, you can directly send payment to PayPal rongxh@... and leave message. I will process accordingly. The 3rd shipment will be shipped tomorrow. Thanks, Adam

Re: D4D: First Shipment
Group , My 40 meter kit arrived in Northeast Oklahoma in the mail today . I will look at the latest updates from Adam and try to get it up and running today or tomorrow . I also have a 30 meter one ordered that shipped with his last shipment . I think rather quick service compared to many other packages I have ordered from China .

Re: D4D: 80m 3.573MHz orderable
Adam Rong
Folks,
A brief test to use it as an 80m ARDF transmitter seems promising. Only one hint: Don't set the audio pitch of the audio source too high, because it will increase the bandwidth of IMD. Thanks, Adam

Re: The perfboards

Rob,
Good job on your alien army. The solder mask is used to limit the area of the solder on the pad. I have to admit that the first time users normally will encounter problems but later on they will love it more and more. Thanks, Adam

Re: The perfboards
Rob <roomberg@...>
It fooled me. But then again... I have a vision problem. A really bad vision
problem. So I examine everything with 7 diopter glasses. I looked at the CHOC board and saw GREEN in between SILVER squares. Never for a moment considering that rows of silver were shorted
together.
so I ask the question WHY? Why not have ALL those pads be visibly connected like in this image I edited to show it: I definitely agree that is a good design to have the multiple rows of perimeter and the internal groupings. I have done almost the same exact thing with my proto PCB I kitchen etched. I often have extra proto pads I add to PCBs in groups of three. Looks like an alien army.

I don’t get it. It is not hidden layer. It is just covered by solder mask. The interconnection is shown on the silkscreen printing on the top over layer. Thanks, Adam

The mod is highly recommended. Mod it while you build it. The impacted parts are C5, C6 and R13.

Just got my D4D and thought I read a post about an IMD mod for improvement. Has anyone done the mod and if so did it improve? and what steps did you take? Just wanted to figure in do it during build or not at all. 73 David N8DAH

This article about this perf board was published in Amateur Radio magazine in Wireless Institute of Australia, FYI.
