I realized that frequency stability and precision is a major concern, so I made a few changes and tests. Now the tuning range is reduced to 7073.7-7074.3 kHz in room temperature at about 16

I like the idea. Especially being able to connect it to a Raspberry Pi.

Hello Adam
this is a great idea, we certainly will like such a small device which we can connect to an Raspberry PI3 and then have a small FT8 station.

CS-40F: Radio for FT-8
Gang,
We are working on a radio kit around 7074kHz USB dedicated for FT-8. Basically it is a crystal controlled KN-Q7A working in USB mode with narrow fine tuning range and high frequency stability.

Gang,
Merry Christmas!
I have shipped all the cap orders with a small gift. You can make an oscillator or even a Pixie2. Enjoy.
Thanks,
Adam

NorCal 40 digital VFO version on Choc perfboard
Gang,
Job is done. I get full 40-meter coverage without birdie on 7.023 MHz because my digital VFO outputs operating frequency plus BFO frequency. The bandwidth of the crystal filter seems a bit wide
