Adam Rong

Gang,

We already shipped the first 10 kits yesterday and will ship another 10 next Monday. We still accept order at introductory price (125 USD for kit and 150 USD for assembled) by tomorrow (June 30). Please PayPal rongxh@... and leave the message about ship to address. The regular price (+25 USD) will be available on web http://crkits.com from July 1.

As it is in massive production now, we will have enough stock after about 10 days.

As it is a brand new product, you are very welcome to write review articles for your local magazines or web sites. Please share here.

Thanks,
Adam

Now you can order via web store http://crkits.com by adding to cart.

I have fulfilled all direct orders. Our distributors in Japan and USA should receive some in a few days. We are looking for a distributor in EU for HT-1A.

Thanks,
Adam

Re: CS-40F: Radio for FT-8

Jim

Will the finished version FT8 radio have build in VOX circuit & USB port? Those two things would really help this rig sell.

I think it should have 3.5mm audio in/out ports also.

Will it have a small frequency display for fine tuning?

Re: CS-40F: Radio for FT-8

Adam Rong

Jim,

I ran my test based on a USB to TTL converter board. At this moment, I don’t have plan to offer a VOX circuit as the converter will do PTT control quite well.

Thanks,
Adam

Re: HT-1A progress update

Adam Rong

Gang,

The first batch will be depleted soon and we are waiting for the 2nd batch because the case customization might take a few weeks. So far the feedback is quite positive and we are waiting for the first eham.net review soon.

Most kits went to Japan. As the Tokyo ham fair is coming soon, please check out the sample at the QRP village booth if you are visiting Japan. It becomes a tradition thanks to Nakajima-san that CRKits products are shown in the QRP village booth every year.

Recently I purchased a few old Kenwood radios like TS-940S and I am amazed by the great performance and nice design about 30 years old. The documents are well written so I can easily repair my radio if it goes wrong. Good examples for me to follow.

Thanks,
Adam

Adam

HT-1A videos uploaded

mx6s@...

Hi All,

Followings are my HT-1A field operation video in California.
On the day, 40m condx was not good. So I moved up 20m and made several QSOs.
This 5-watt dual bander worked fine in my travel. Equipped internal battery, 5W continuous output,
good sensitivity and easy to see display are the nice companion's feature during trip.
Enjoy !

Still remember KN-Q7A?

Adam Rong

Gang,

I listen a lot but seldom transmit. Although I have a few radios to choose from, I still wish to build a dedicated receiver. I hope it is low noise and high performance, so I consider KN-Q7A receiver portion. By using four crystals in crystal socket, I can tune 7.000-7.030 for CW, 7.050-7.130 for SSB. I added a power switch and power indicator LED and power consumption is about 35 mA.

I have depleted MC1350 so I believe for a while it is not possible to produce more CS kits, but I have an alternative solution and it works fine. Some redesign is required, so let’s wait for some time.
Thanks,
Adam

Re: Still remember KN-Q7A?

Adam,
I have the very early one and it is only 10-KC TX.
Can the early unit receive the CW part?
What is the resistor on the jumper for?
Thank you

Re: Still remember KN-Q7A?

Bob,

To receive 7.000-7.030, I used VXO crystal of 15.500 MHz (this is the one used with 8.192 MHz IF to cover 7.280-7.300 MHz), and the IF crystals are 8.4672 MHz.

The resistor on the jumper is the current limiting resistor for the amber LED. It can be 1~3.3k ohm.

Thanks,
Adam

Re: HT-1A videos uploaded

Adam Rong

Nakajima-san,

Thanks for sharing these videos during your trip to California. Dual bands, more chances to make QSO. 5 watt is also very important for some poor conditions.

Thanks,
Adam

Re: Still remember KN-Q7A?

JOHN CRONHELM

Adam,
I have heard nothing except band noise on my KN-Q7A from 7.050-7.130 since mid November 2017, but very occasionally further up the band on my main transceiver and antenna. Bottom of cycle has really hit this area Newfoundland. 20 mtrs is dead.
