  • Download the .hex file using the following reference https://groups.io/g/cosmacelf/topic/volunteer_to_create_uart/80508726?p=Created,,,20,1,40,0&jump=1
  • connect your terminal  to the Elf V2’s hardware UART port.   4800 bps is suitable
  • using a terminal program such RealTerm, set the file transfer setting for end of line delay to around 60 ms and inter character delay to 10 ms.  You may have to alter these timings for your particular setup
  • ensure that the STG prompt of >>> in on the terminal emulator screen
  • start the file transfer
  • each .hex record,  if properly transferred,  will  result in a OK prompt from the STG monitor
  • I had to edit the original .hex file with Windows Wordpad to insert the proper CR/LF sequence.  Open the .hex  file with Wordpad and then do a save is all it takes
  • when the file transfer is complete, the STG monitor will  issue an EOF message
  • start the Elf installer by issuing the  run 3000 command
  • choose the Elf install menu item and complete the 4 step Elf OS install procedure
  • you will need to use the xrb XMODEM file transfer tool to finish loading Elf files such as basetools.lbr
