Sharing the broker and the bridge in enterprise Corda

Hi Oleg,
We have never QA tested that configuration and we have previously always assumed that the nodes were part of the same network zone, so we cannot give a definitive answer on this. Could you please talk to your R3 account manager to discuss exploring this more formally. Based on the my own understanding of the design and assuming a shared trust root for all nodes it may well work, but there may be unexpected problems. I have to defer to testing for any official answer on this.

Hello,
We design the enterprise setup where multiple Corda nodes share Artemis broker and the bridge to achieve a reduction of the infrastructure costs. The product documentation v 4.4 contains the deployment diagram where the broker and the bridge are shared between multiple nodes (https://docs.corda.net/docs/corda-enterprise/4.4/node/corda-firewall-component.html#multiple-nodes--bridge-no-float-no-dmz) but the document does not stress on whether these nodes have to belong to the same compatibility zone. Can we safely assume that Corda nodes which belong to different compatibility zones and which use different network maps are able to share single Artemis broker and the bridge? best regards Oleg Burundukov ING DLT team |
