Thanks for your help, I was missing "flatten", and then he says "Done",  ...it's in the chapter 1 Emerald lake video,  time:3:37.

That should help.

(make colour corrections on upper layer, set upper layer to colour mode, flatten duplicate, make luminosity blends/curves, set upper layer to luminosity mode, flatten).
