As we approach the end of 2022, our first full year of operation since the pandemic closure, we reflect on our long history while preparing for our future. This coming year will mark the celebration of the Avalon's 100th anniversary and 20 years operating as a non-profit. With your help we can reach our goal of raising $250,000 by December 31 in this year's Annual Fund Campaign.

The Avalon, originally known as the Chevy Chase Theatre, opened on February 28, 1923. A century later we are proud to be a Washington cultural and historic landmark and one of the last original neighborhood theaters, offering unique film and art experiences for all ages. Your support will allow us to bring these special experiences to our community for years to come.
