No one wants their car to be hit -- and left damaged -- by a thoughtless truck driver. That happened to me three weeks ago. So I called my insurance company (Amica), the appraiser came the next day, and I got a list of body shops. Luckily for me, I took the first one -- Hanagan's just over the line in Silver Spring, off Georgia Avenue.
It's a great, family-owned business. They called when they had the parts, I came in, they told me 8 business days, and then they delivered it -- looking perfect and totally cleaned -- in 5 days.
From time to time, we all need help with dings and dents and worse. Keep this name in mind: Hanagan's Auto Body Shop. Fair prices, fast work and good job! https://hanagan.com/

From Mark Bucher, Feed the Fridge: Combatting Malnutrition Caused by Food Insecurity

Leah Craft

Dear Friends,

For Malnutrition Awareness Week, Feed the Fridge continues to raise awareness and provide meals for those who are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition because of food insecurity.

DONATE TODAY

Your Gift Matters Now

Malnutrition, especially from a young age, can severely decrease a person’s quality of life, increasing risks of chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, often leading to premature death. Chronic malnourishment also causes a weakened immune system which, especially in times of COVID, makes those experiencing food insecurity disproportionately at risk of illness.

Please Make A Difference

Feed the Fridge is dedicated to providing nourishing meals that will keep our meal recipients going throughout the day. Community members are encouraged to take what they need – there will be more tomorrow! You don’t need to ask permission to take more than one meal. And we do not serve poverty food. All of our meals are nutrient-rich, wholesome, filling and dignified.

You could be the reason someone eats today. Please consider making a one-time or regular donation today at feedthefridge.org  Every dollar counts.

Gratefully yours,

Opening in Nanny Share #nanny #nannyshare #babysitter

katehudsongiese@...

We are looking for a family to join in our nanny share with our wonderful nanny and 18 month old son. Ideally looking for a toddler around his age to join part-time, 2 or 3 days a week, at our home near the Cathedral. Our nanny Mariana is very experienced with nanny shares, has excellent references from previous long-term family nanny positions, and is a wonderful caretaker for our toddler son and preschooler daughter (who is in school until 3 pm every day).  We are hoping to find someone who needs that elusive part-time-but-consistent type of care, with a toddler who could be a playmate for our son, who is missing out on the typical social experiences he would have been getting more of pre-covid!

Please email me if interested, katehudsongiese@...

ISO Contractor Who Can Solve a Plumbing Problem

Jean Doyle

Hi Neighbors--

I'd be grateful for recommendations for a contractor (I think?) who can help us solve the following problem. We have water accumulating under our bathroom tiles. Quite literally, when we step on several of the tiles we hear water moving underneath and there is a small amount of water coming up through the grout. We had a plumber come out and he resealed our toilet thinking that maybe the leak was coming from there. He advised that if the source of the link is NOT the toilet, we would likely have to start removing sections of our wall to try to identify the source. He suggested a contractor for this given that it goes beyond the scope of traditional plumbing work.

Might anyone have a recommendation for a contractor who might be able to help us solve this problem?

With gratitude,

Jean
