I’m on the board of one of the co-op buildings along Porter Street. Like many buildings, we have an old unit at the basement level that was built for the maintenance person.
We would like to renovate that unit to sell and generate some money for other much needed building repairs.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a lawyer who would be able to guide us through the process of creating the new unit (and then either making new shares in the co-op, or redistributing them), as well as some of the other potential legal hurdles?
