Come dance like Jane Austen!  The Central Illinois English Country Dancers are based in Champaign-Urbana, IL.  We hold monthly dances at the Phillips Recreation Center, 505 West Stoughton in Urbana.  We also hold a ball twice a year, a Playford Ball in the spring and a Christmas Ball in December.  Our dance programs are composed mostly of English country dances with some Early American dances as well as the occasional dance from some other tradition.  All dances are taught and then prompted to live music provided by the Flatland Consort, our house band.  Partners, costumes and experience are not necessary and all lovers of English country dancing and music are welcome.
