leucistic Killdeer, Goose Haven Rd, Solano Co. 1/15/18

Went out on January 15 in search of Mountain Plovers on Flannery and Robinson Roads in Solano Co. Fog was thick, lifting a bit in the afternoon. Unfortunately did not see and plovers (but heard that one group saw 1 bird.) However did have a FERRUGINOUS HAWK, BURROWING OWLS, TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS in a large mixed blackbird flock, including one YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD and a large mixed flock of DARK-EYED JUNCOS AND LARK SPARROWS and other species.
The most interesting bird of the day was a leucistic KILLDEER found on Goose Haven Rd. north of Lambie Rd. in a field next to the road full of sheep with new lambs ( a lamb ranch.) Great coloring! Watched it chase another Killdeer, so got to see the wing pattern, too.
