With PHD2 I have an option in Autoguidage to restart shooting because bad guidance.
This option does not exist with the internal guide:

Yes, all this additional options for PHD2 are not implemented by the internal guider for now because the priority was to make it work reliably.
The star lost recovery is done automatically by the internal guider, I not think this option need to be added.
The drift control you mention can probably be added, I will look at for the next version.
