I created this group so that chess players could freely communicate with each other. The recent pandemic means that many people have been doing more online. Here is a list of things that I am hoping people will use it for: Announcement of local OTB tournaments including blitz, quick chess and club matches Announcement of local club online tournaments Coordination between players and local clubs for getting together Players who have chess stuff to get rid of. When OTB play resumes, players needing rides to events Request for help figuring out the online chess world: chess.com, lichess.com, twitch, and youtube can get weird but are great chess resources. Discussion of the merits of different approaches to cheating online. Training and study advice Sharing games and puzzles using PGN or FEN notation - as far as I know, there is no way to make the chess positions display but both methods can be loaded into chess software, e.g. Stockfish. I expect this to be a low volume list at first, and possibly forever. There is a digest option should the amount of email become annoying. Spam filters may classify these emails as spam so be alert. Groups.io tries to automatically unsubscribe people from mail lists when their mail program label a groups.io email as spam. -- Josh Kuperman josh.kuperman@...

I have set up our weekly tournament for this Sunday 11/29/2020 at 7:30 PM. I have been making some changes in the hope of making it feel more like regular informal skittles games at our club meetings.
