Subject: Another Goldwave Question

Hi list,
Ever since I totally updated goldwave from the old 5.8 to the 6.* I have had editing issues. These days, I don’t know if the cause is Gw, NVDA or my lack of knowledge.
I am trying to edit a long mp3 file. I first select all in the file with control A. Then I set up my navigating time to move the arrows either ten minutes or one hour. When I get to the middle of the file I press the start marker, which says 0.00 Etc. then, I move the right arrow to the end of the needed editing section and press finish marker. Then I press delete. This deletes the entire file, rather than the edited section, so I have to use undo, to get the file back. Isn’t there a way to track the cursor location so that wherever I press the start marker to edit, I shouldn’t hear 0.00?
I’m sure I am doing something wrong, but I don’t know what. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Vinny, you have got to start playing the file before you jump to the middle of the file to set your start marker. Begin playing the file. Jump to the section where you want to be and press the pause key, which isfunction key 7. Then press your left bracket key to place your start marker.
