Zoom H5 and HPRJ files.
Hamit Campos
Yo there friends. For any of all you all that have the H5, and the H4 N Pro
for that matter. In the recording folders when you record on them do they create an HPRJ file? What about when in stereo mode. See I found this file is the secret to why the H6 doesn't play anything not recorded on it. Cause I recorded a WAV on mine took away the dot HPRJ file and bam the file wouldn't play no more. These recorders are sadly dependent on that dot HPRJ file. No HPRJ, then sucks for you your file won't play. But I wasn't sure if the other 2 recorders are like this. |

I am not sure, but does this mean you cannot play the file anywhere or is it just on the recorders where they won't play withouth that file?

Surely you should be able to put the wave files in a editor on the computer. Aidan On 27 Jun 2022, at 8:37 PM, Hamit Campos <hamitcampos@...> wrote: |

That's part of my own question. But as to the recorders that do make this

HPRJ file yes the answer apparently seems to be no HPRJ no file play. I find this huboris and stupid. Like bruh what up with that? Just let the dam thing work. I know not what this HPRJ file is or does other than have something that tells the H6 this is a project of yours play it because you can't put meta data into the H6. Yeah you can change the naming skeem apparently but what evs. So anyways yeah I don't know if you could play stuff on the old H4N or the original H4. I know you can on the H2N or according to Neal's podcast you could. So that must not make HPRJ files. Olympus did something dopy like this with the LS-14 as well. In that case it's ah the recorder doesn't record in the sample rate and bit depth you wana play? Then sucks for you no file play for you. Again dopy cause the DM-420 that couldn't even record WAV would play WAV even 48 KHZ 16 bits mono. Now the 14 will play 48 16 bits. But ah since it doesn't record this in mono then suck it it won't play a mono DVD audio file. Don't know if the LS 100 had this kinda problem but I think Neal did say there were files he couldn't play. Ah now I remember. He seemed to suggest it had a similar problem to the H6. If the LS-100 didn't make the file then it can't play it. I don't know what was going on there. But as to the H6 now we know. It's the dependency on that HPRJ file that is the problem. -----Original Message-----
