Hi Adam,

The first message to the list, thank you.

As Dennis mentioned The pc audio list will be gone on
December 1st 2017. I hope this platform will work more
efficiently. At least, I hope I don't get as much s p a m.

If it doesn't suit subscribers I'll be willing to try
something else.

Comments are welcome.

Is this a replacement to the pc audio list or a list in addition?

Virus-free. www.avast.com

Re: pc audio list.

Tom

You can send messages to both lists. The pc audio list
termination date has been extended to around December 7th or
so.

Over half of the pc audio list subscribers have come to the
groups i o list so far. I suspect a lot of the pc audio
subscribers did not receive the invitation to join here and I
don't know how to fix that. The problem would be with their
ISP blocking the messages.

I'll figure something out.

Tom

I have a question should I post to both lists to make sure
every one gets it?

it is regarding music sampling

Re: pc audio list.

Well, I hope this does work out. I'm on several groups.io lists, and that system seems to work well.

Re: hello

Bob Hicks

Hi Roger. I thought we were the only Seeing Hamndc company. Our group
dates back to 1936. We were originally known as the Ohio County society of
the Blind and officially became incorporated as the Seeing Hand Association
Inc. in September 1946. We were the first agency to be dedicated to
services to the blind in WV and supposedly the 10th in the USA. We didn't
add computer training until 2001 when I came aboard. We are a
not-for-profit.

We have a week long, residendual camp for 10-17 visually impaired age
students, summer camp. Our status as a not-for-profit is a burden as we
must hold many fund raisers as we don't receive any state nor federal
funding. We have an adult bowling league that meets in the fall and spring.

Greetings,

Tom, please can you let us know what isand is not permitted here?

As it is entitled "All-audio" does this mean anything to do with audio, not
only relating as did pc-audio to the use of audio in the pc-environment is
permitted?

Thanks.

Re: What is permissible for this group?

Tom

Colin,

almost anything related to audio hardware and software. On
the pc audio list, AM, FM SW radios etc. were discussed,
digital recorders, audio mixers, consumer home audio systems
and maybe even professional audio equipment will be OK.

As somebody mentioned on the pc audio list, audio is
disscussed on other tech e-mail lists but there's also a lot
of posts that are technically in nature but not directly
audio related. That's the type of discussion I'd like to keep
off the list. Subscribers to the pc audio list wants
information on audio but nothing else. Helps keep traffic low
too.

Tom

Our status as a not-for-profit is a burden as we
must hold many fund raisers as we don't receive any state nor federal
funding. We have an adult bowling league that meets in the fall and spring.

hi! and a ripping question

John Heath

I have both Windows Media Player and Cdex on my computer. I’ve used both for ripping cds. But how do I rip something that is on my computer?

Thanks in advance.

Re: pc audio list.

Hello Tom:

I am sure this platform will work fine, I understand completely what you
went through. I had a list for many years at my own domain using the
Mailman software, much easier for us to handle, but try as I did, I could
not avoid the ever-increasing number of bounces, mostly from the big ones,
Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.

I finally gave up and moved my list to Googlegroups, where it has been
happily for over a year with nary a bounce. I also have a new list with
groups.io and so far no problems.

What are you going to do? You would need a person working full time to keep
a list mailing from your own domain to avoid being considered as spam and
put on all kinds of blacklists.

Best,

Humberto

P.S. I did not answer other posts to avoid saturation, but I am also totally
blind and teckie, teach assistive technology to blind or visually-impaired
veterans, contracted by the V A.

Hi Adam,

The first message to the list, thank you.

As Dennis mentioned The pc audio list will be gone on
December 1st 2017. I hope this platform will work more
efficiently. At least, I hope I don't get as much s p a m.

If it doesn't suit subscribers I'll be willing to try
something else.

Comments are welcome.

What do you mean by somethign on your comp? Do you mean you have a folder with CDDA files and ya wana convert them? CDDA is what the files on a regular old CD are by the way. It means Compact Disk Digital Audio.

First Time Posts

Tom

Ladies and gentlemen,

Groups i o apparently requires approval of first time posts.
I haven't found where to turn it off. If you post a message
before morning eastern time, and it is your first post, I
might not get to it before then. If I wake during the night,
which always happens, I'll check for posts requiring
approval.

Thank you all for joining.

Tom
