Re: my ears!

Georgina Joyce

Hello,

I have high frequency loss and have been given hearing aids. When I ware them they help a little in this respect. But they do spoil my enjoyment of the music. I should say I am a vinyl fan and rather hear the music how the artist / producer intended it to sound. So I haven't tried increasing the highs to compensate for my hearing.

So you could try lifting the highs from the amp or equaliser. Or investigate the need for a hearing test to see if aids would help. It is interesting to experience how a slight high hearing loss affects the defining one sound from that of another. For going out a noisy environment is torture for me now too.

Good luck.

Yeah, not sure. Maybe look at the the documentation in the section about
lookups. The ability to interface with other databases may be pretty
limited.

I personally would rather enter data manually so that I can be more sure
it's correct, but it's certainly an extra step that couldb e time-consuming
if you have a lot of CDs to rip.

Hello.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "stop this". if it can't identify
something, it still has to name the files somehow.
Cdex's default database, which I think used to be gracenote, has been dead
for a while, I thought. I know you can set it up to work with another,
potentially, and if you are actually getting some albums identified it
sounds like you have already done that? I know mine doesn't identify
anything, but I'm ok with that as I just enter in everything manually and
there are no errors, unlike databases, where there are often errors in track
names and misidentifications of albums.

Greetings,

So, how can I look at what is in the preset? I don't mean plug-ins, I mean
the presets which can be added / deleted from the presets created for
recording and saving files.

I really want to look at them, change and save the settings back under a new

In Total Recorder, to set up a new background recording, one can "clone" an
existing setting, the original is not lost. Is there the same kind of
facility in GW V6.60? How do I access such?

Thanks.

Re: skipping back and forth in GoldWave

JM Casey

Pleasure.
The goldwave manual is good and explains quite well how to use the programme. There are also some good things on the audacity wiki including, if I remember right, an accessibility-oriented page. Check out the VIP software guide for audacity as well, which I think has been updated fairly recently.
I'm more of a text learner than an audio learner so I don't really seek out tutorials and such of that kind, but tend to go for written documentation instead. But I have seen audio tutorials out there for GW at least and there have been some paid and free courses as well. So keep looking.

It seems there was a windows function that had to be turned on or off
and
then adjust the size of skip in the view menu. Can anyone set me

Thank you.
