The problem with the cloud lifter is that you need 2 cables. Where as the Fethead is in line. Fethead also have a version that passes fantom on to the mic should you need gain on a

I have the H6, do not yet have an NT1A but by all accounts it is one of the
quietest mics on the market.
I do not recall the exact specs but the head room on the H6 preamps is much
less than that on

Good point. The lifter uses phantom power but it does not get through to
the mic. So its mostly for ribbons and dynamics.

Providing we are talking about XLR connected mics and have access to fantom power. Don’t forget the fethead an alternative to the cloud lifter. They also do one for condenser

Frank what have you found? Do you have an NT1-A? Is the H6 noisy with it? As I explained to Gena Neal does the NT1-A tests in his computer room so you have his batteries eating into the floor noise.

There are several ways to reduce noise. You can start with the NT1A, you
can switch from the H6 to the F8N which has a lot more noise free gain or
you can stick with a mic of your choice and the H6

Hi Gena. The KM 140s were condencers from Newman. I say were because it looks like they are gone. They were $15 thousand each 1. So what neal did with them is put them on a stereo bar that is set up

He's in Madison Wisconsin. He's a musician and naturest to an extent. He loves recording birds lakes tranes all kinds of things. He uses 2 KM140s in ORTF.

Pixy mount is a stand, tripod I think. The Deadcat you mean the wind jammer? Is this for the clip on mics? My block of foam that came with it is still wrapped.
