I want to convert the wave files to mp3 to conserve space. Also I can't send individual songs to my friends in wave format, it's too large. They play just fine.

What do you mean by somethign on your comp? Do you mean you have a folder with CDDA files and ya wana convert them? CDDA is what the files on a regular old CD are by the way. It means Compact Disk Digital Audio.

I had a list for many years at my own domain using the Mailman software, much easier for us to handle, but try as I did, I could not avoid the ever-increasing number of bounces, mostly from the big ones, Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. I finally gave up and moved my list to Googlegroups, where it has been happily for over a year with nary a bounce. I also have a new list with groups.io and so far no problems. What are you going to do? You would need a person working full time to keep a list mailing from your own domain to avoid being considered as spam and put on all kinds of blacklists. Best, Humberto P.S. almost anything related to audio hardware and software. On the pc audio list, AM, FM SW radios etc. were discussed, digital recorders, audio mixers, consumer home audio systems and maybe even professional audio equipment will be OK. As somebody mentioned on the pc audio list, audio is disscussed on other tech e-mail lists but there's also a lot of posts that are technically in nature but not directly audio related. That's the type of discussion I'd like to keep off the list. Subscribers to the pc audio list wants information on audio but nothing else. Helps keep traffic low too. termination date has been extended to around December 7th or so. Over half of the pc audio list subscribers have come to the groups i o list so far. I suspect a lot of the pc audio subscribers did not receive the invitation to join here and I don't know how to fix that. The problem would be with their ISP blocking the messages.
