File Size Query

It appears that SoundForge 14.X will not play a file below a certain size (approx 150k)

Has anyone else had this experience?

Is there a setting I can change to overcome this??

This particular file is in .mp3 format.

Well perhaps another TR user can suggest what you can do.

I Don't use Total Recorder, but a Google search seems to suggest that it
should work. Another stream which I know works in Winamp and uses the
audio/aacp type is:
http://s2.viastreaming.net:7100

See if that one works for you in TR.

Hi Colin,

Firstly MushroomFM streams using the content type audio/aacp. Most, if not
all of the others use audio/mpeg. Perhaps Total Recorder does not recognise
AAC+

Regarding FunHouseRadio, see if the following link is what you want.

Re: Corrupt mp3

JM Casey

Not really, but in mye xperience, if VLC can't handle it at all, there's not much you can do. VLC will fix some indexing errors in video files -- not sure if it can do anything with a broken MP3 or not, but it will do its best to play the file as is and generall doesn't "quit" as easily as other players will no matter how messed up the file is. What kind of corruption are we talking about here? Do you get nothing when attempting to play? Does the file seem incomplete, or is there just a lot of digital noise?

there was always g3 or whatever the name is, not free, but still a decent

Windows Media Player can rip CDs. If the CDs are original it can get the
artist album and track stuff.

Request for the MacOS VoiceOver Sounds, and the VoiceView sounds

Charlie

Hi everyone:

My name is Charlie Smith, and I am a new member of this list.

I'm looking for the MacOS voiceover sounds, and the VoiceView sounds. The reason why, is due to the fact that I'm making a sound theme for Commentary Screen Reader, and Sonic Vision on android.

Thanks.

Re: sound cards

Hamit Campos

Hi John. Well you could still as I do enjoy the lausless Dolby Tru HD or DTS HD Master files. With 4K Blu-Ray well you'd first have to spend $3300 on the Onkyo AVR to do it than you can enjoy glorious 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos and DTSX. Oh and the 11 satelite speakers and the sub. Woops almost forgot the speakers there for a moment. lol. Note this is my ultimate gole. But in any event yeah that's why I said I wouldn't debate HDMI because I wasn't sure you'd be interested. With DVDs though HDMI will save you 3 cables into the PC then into the AVR. The optical cable someone brought up earlier would do as well. I was just suggesting as the new PC will have HDMI which is a funny looking USB port like hole with a trapezoid kinda shape and little cuts down the triangle like sides of it you could use said port into the TV or into your surround sound system if it too has HDMI. Ah even the monitor if it has speakers you could HDMI into that. That's how I use my PC at night.

Ah okay. Well 2 things then. It's brand spanking new right? Like you
either ordered dirrectly from Dell or bought at a store right now today
in 2020? Here's why I ask this. If it's a new tower no matter what model
it will indeed have HDMI. We won't go into an HDMI version debate
because I don't know if you are going to watch Blu-Ray disks. So for the
topic at hand 1 yes your friend is right. Get a Soundblaster Z at least.
I'd say but let's wait to hear from someone who has 1 on how it sounds.
Asus makes soundcards too apparently. Let's here oh and back to HDMI
though if you do have a new TV with HdMI or an AVR with HDMI then like I
said before meh just grab a cable and hook that sucker in. I probabally
should grab a card though too for those rare times I use it. Mostly I
use either my bose speakers or my Zoom H6 as an audio interface which by
the way meh it's just a fancy pro word for fancy pro soundcard.

First thanks to you and list for answering. I'm getting a Dell; don't ask which model I don't know. I was asking because my friend-technician whose is going to install tells me this tower is quite expandable.

Yes and I forgot to expand on this last night. Not only that. I have
seen that depending on the PC you will get a different flavor as well.
But over all yeah a soundcard would be better. Realtek is adding too
many strange effects to their internal audio. Which is a shame because
brightness and sometimes especially if you could shut the weerd bathroom
echo like effects the panning could be very much awesome. Sye too bad
the best sounding PC for my ears is so mad expensive and meh maybe too
much PC for most. I'm talking of corse about the MSI Trident. Man that
thing sounds glorious.

On 10/24/2020 7:06 AM, Brian Olesen wrote:
HI,
Yes, and no.
The obvious answer is off course yes, but there can be factors that makes
bumps on the way.
The dac is an extremely important component, and some of the better cards
has really good dacs.
But the usb port of your computer can create unwanted noise that will
disturb the final result.

Best regards
