total recorder enquiry

Joe Paton

Hello all,

been looking at total recorder. I can't figure out the table of
benefits between the standard, pro, and video versions of total recorder.
Could somebody summerize the benefits of Pro, versus standard please?

Thanks.

VLC 3.0 always crashing

Peter Russillo

Hello, I use VLC Media Player the latest version on my Windows 10 PC; I use the desktop version and not the one from the Windows store as I don't know how accessible that is with screen readers; I use System Access as my screen reader; it seems with every other file I open to play, I hear "VLC Crash Reporting, oops, VLC media player has crashed."  I hit enter to tell it to send a crash report; then the file will play as normal.  Is there a workaround to keep from getting those annoying crash reports every time I open one of my audio files?  What I like about VLC is the ability to move backward or forward on the fly when playing a file.  Any tips or tricks would be appreciated; also if anyone uses the Windows 10 VLC app with a screen reader, is it accessible and usable?  Thanks very much.

This is the way I would do it.
Either use total recorder as it have a driver wich make it possible to
record vurtual and physical inputs at once with a small mixer utility
without having to worry what is rooted to where. That works very well
as you have control over the driver volume wich you don't have in the
case of the loopback input in goldwave.
Also to make it more simple you could try sound tap recorder from nch
but that is 29$ and con't do much, or if stil available and in working
order, you can try vurtual recorder as that was build with this
purpose in mind.
Goldwave works well when recording the vurtual input from the physical
card you select, but if you want to go beyond that then its a problem.

virtual cable acts like a "sound card," which you route from or too,
because there are several outputs and inputs.

Many thanks Curtis, that agrees with what someone else on a different list suggested.

Re: Recording multiple sounds simultaneously on a PC

you might check into virtual audio cable and route the different sources
to wherever you wish. In that way, you just focus on the primary source,
like "cable one" and then change all the other outputs to route to cable
one. I use virtual audio cable for many occasions when I wish to record
off the net, or more than one item into a combined recording as in your
case, voice, speech synthesizer, and other items into gold wave.

Hi, I am new to this list so please forgive the basic nature of my question. I'd like to be able to record demonstrations of games on my PC where I can get the sound of the game, the sound of my Screenreader and my own voice all recorded at the same time.

I am using Windows7, I have 2 sound cards, a Realtek and a Sound Blaster Audigy and have the latest version of Goldwave. I also have 2 different external Microphones which connect via the mike socket and 1 USB camera with its own in-built microphone. Oh and a pair of Plantronics Bluetooth headphones with in-built microphone.

In Goldwave I've tried setting the recording device to Loopback and whilst I get all the sounds from my PC, Jaws, Windows and the game I want to demo, I can't get any of the mikes to be recorded. If I select 1 of the mikes as the recording device I can hear my voice, and the mike picks up the sound from the speakers but the sound balance isn't great and the quality is worse.

Given what I've currently got is there any way of doing what I want? If not what do I need to be able to record all these sounds at the same time.
Cheers

Using the latest version.

Can't seem to find any of the shortcuts I'm used to i.e. space-play pause, I track information.

Do I have to turn on this feature or has it been discontinued?

Hi, this is for Tim Noonan; thank you for the button layout of the SoundLink Revolve.  I got it up and charged; I especially like the voice prompts in the unit.  Another question:  can it be charged from a USB port on the computer or must it be plugged in to a mains outlet for every recharge?  Thanks for your help on this.

Yours truly, Peter

Re: SoundLink Revolve

Tim Noonan

Hi,

The USB jack and audio in jack are at the back, facing away from you:

The single button on the back of the Revolve is the power on off button.
When it speaks battery level, you know the unit is on.

The button in the centre of the five buttons with tactile markings on it, is play pause - multi-function.
Pressing twice skips forward a track, three times, back a track. Holding it down calls up Siri etc.

To its left is volume down
To its right is volume up.

The far left button is for bluetooth pairing and to select between paired devices.

The far right button is an input mode button - analogue Audio in or USB in.

To switch back to Bluetooth, press the far left button.

That should get you up and running.

Regards
Tim

Hi All,

I am having issues streaming radio to my I phone 5S, buffering and generally
cutting out.

I am not having the same issue streaming on the same wifi circuit to stand
alone internet radios or laptops.

Does anyone know if the streaming technology in later I phones is
significantly better than that in a 5S or whether I am unlikely to improve
performance in streaming even with a newer I phone.

I want to continue using an I phone as use a VPN for certain listening.

Thanks
