Re: Noise floor

Hello John,
I take him seriously. He is a professional voice actor. Furthermore what bothers me about this thread is that it is rather subjective. We al may be born with the same hearing but as we age and experience different noise levels during our lives, such judgements can only be based on subjective opinion. We subconsciously block out background noises. We tolerate some tones more readily than others. A noise floor isn’t bad, it is about understanding it and using it or masking it. Look at Tamla Motown, their equipment was shockingly bad. However, the skills of the people knew how to use it and made many hit records.
I have a fethead and it really does make a difference when using dynamic mics. In that the pre-amps don’t have to be cranked up. Being inline makes it easy to install too.

There are several ways to reduce noise. You can start with the NT1A, you
can switch from the H6 to the F8N which has a lot more noise free gain or
you can stick with a mic of your choice and the H6 and buy a cloud lifter.

Ah good. It's a great podcast. What I love most is that it's the 1 pod
cast where he uses the NT1-A the most.

Hi Georgena, Hamit and list.
Gena asked for Neals Review. Are we talking about BSM binauralall of them if possible.
If the latter, you can get it at here:
Sendspace.

I've a number of Neals podcasts from BCT but not them all.
Hamit you said that Dane had them.
You could not provide me with his e-mail address so I can ask for some orI'll try again.
I discovered years ago that Neal rarelly replies to messages. Perhapsguy a wee message and see if he has retained any of them.
Rick Harmon held the BCT Archieve at on time. Perhaps I'll drop the bigyou do it?
Very best wishes.
Andy.
