OK, you COULD invent a nice several ms long audio delay line, I suppose. With digital this is very easy and allows a squelch to be negative time if you wish. {o.o}

Given enough time and motivation. Always. Maybe I should just expose a whole panel of settings and let the users create their perfect squelch?

Sure if you set the squelch high enough the tail is reduced to nearly zero. But after making that statement about how DSP can do better than analog, you can do better than that ;) . At one point I eve

What is nice about the "Motorola squelch" is that above a certain signal level, the muting upon loss of signal is so quick there is no squelch tail at all. Joe M.

Maybe you are confusing a few things here. The NFM is heavily massaged to sound good if you don't disable the audio filtering (Audio panel). These are non linear transformations. I don't have a motoro

Sorry, I feel like I missed something. How do you enable the FM frequency domain modulator on the latest build? How is this helpful for FM DXing? What settings do you suggest to start? 73, Les Rayburn

Important note: The new demodulator works best when the entire signal is covered by the channel filter (VFO). It behaves differently than the classic arctan approach.

with this Build 1862, seems that now the Squelch feature is not working properly, because now with value in 50 is like squelch completely opened, while previously (in Build 1860) was working fine.
