Call-out for new plugin ideas

Tag Loomis (Tag)

Do you have a plugin idea you'd like to see become a reality?

Let me know, I'm ready to help where/if I can.

Someone has mentioned a need for  TCP/UDP Audio sender plugin, if you have more specifics please let me know.

Thanks!

OmniRig Sync - panadapter plugin available

I developed the CalicoCAT plugin and had a request to provide panadapter functionality.

So without much fanfare, I present the OmniRig Sync plugin:

If there is enough demand, I will develop HamlibSync as well.

Isn't there already a meter plugin that shows this?

Already have ‘Night  Mode’ plugin which is very dark and ‘Toolbar’ which can display analog SNR meter, but native in SDR# would be okay also.

IMHO Prog has always been about substance as Chris said...but a little
bling is a good thing too :) In fact I've always hoped someone would
create a "magic eye tuning" plugin...

There is a plugin available called "Level Meter" if this is what you are referring too.

Re: Community Package with Plugins #software #sdrsharp

Hello everyone,

Has anyone used the "DDE Tracking Client" with WXtrack or Orbitron with the sdr # community package?
The NDde.dll library appears to be missing in the installation package and the add-in does not work.

Finally it works by adding the NDde.dll library to the sdrsharp folder. I got the library from the David Taylor site https://www.satsignal.eu/software/DDETracker.html

Oscar

Oscar,

Yes, I've tested WXtrack with the plug-in, and it works as expected.

I don't use the community installer though. Perhaps the author will add the required packages, please?

Re: Theme support for SDR# #poll

Squelch on SSB would be a very nice standard feature, along with 'meter type' analogue display of SNR - so much easier to follow than numbers.

I'd also like to see some of the 'core' functions like mode, BW, squelch [ahem] shown permanently along the top bar next to the frequency and leave the drop downs for less often used things. As it is, expand more then three drop downs and that's the screen full. Then you're juggling which ones to expand and contract. I admit that approach packs a lot of stuff in a small space, but in my opinion key settings should be always there.

Speaking of which, there is also a high contrast theme for those of our friends who need it.

Actually, using a graphical toolkit saves more time. Refactoring the whole SDR# UI took only 2 days. I am only leveraging what already exists.
For example, there is a pre-developed scheduler component that can be used to automate many things. Same for some fancy chart components. etc.

Some folks will find light text on dark easier to read, so that should
certainly be an option, but most likely it would be an option folks would
want for /all/ the software they run. So I would expect that the OS should
offer that as a standard theme across all applications. To have a program
which doesn't have the behaviour as defined by the OS is just a further
impediment to using that software, and increases support effort.

For software which runs on an Android tablet or an iPad, or on Linux or
macOS (e.g. using a network link to a SpyServer source), to minimise effort
the developer may be forced into using common themes, controls, scroll bars
etc. which are compatible across all those operating systems. That puts a
different light on things.

I'd rather see enhancements to the already great core software, rather than
duplicating OS functions.

Cheers,
David

In my email program, the picture attachments are just named "dummyxxxxx.part", so I can't tell for sure which is which (all groups.io emails do this for some reason).

But I like the dark themes too!

A new poll has been created:

So, I have been busy integrating a new theme library (ie. skins) to SDR#. The library is not free, but if there's enough demand, we can push it.
This adds ~6 MB to the download (12.5 MB unpacked). The memory usage is still reasonable (< 100 MB) and most of it is paged.
The current build is still under test, and I am still negotiating the licensing terms to allow plugin developers to skin their plugins as well for a coherent and professional look.

So, which theme do you like the most?
