congratulations for the great job ...
I made a midi controller and I find it very comfortable.
Why not implement the midi controls plugin ?

Maybe go about your problem from the other direction, what file formats does that analysing tool support ? That can handle sample rates as high as 768000 Hz and filesizes greater than 4GiB.

Then you could use a conversion tool to change the container from a 2007 RF64 wav file (maximum sampleRate 2^32 samples per second (~4.3 GSPS); maximum filesize 16 Exbibytes) to any file format that the tool supports.

Because 1991 standard wav files have a size limit of (2^31)-1 bytes (~2 GiB), (where 1 bit was reserved for sign, which logically makes no sense)
And the unsigned wav files have a maximum filesize of (2^32)-1 bytes (~4 GiB)
And the 2007 RF64 wav have a maximum filesize of (2^64)-1 bytes (~16 EiB)

Advice needed for recording large files with SDR#

Patrick

Hi there,

I'm using the 'Baseband recorder' plugin and need 768 ksps (NDB / Medium Waves band DX'ing). 16 bits PCM IQ.

Is it possible to make an overnight recording, either in a single large file or several smaller ones (say 8h on one file or 8 files of 1h each, chaining automatically) ?

- Selecting "WAV SDR# Compatible" option, max file length is 2 Go = 11'40" max duration for one file. Way too short
- Running the "WAV FULL" option, upper limit is 4 Go ; that's slightly more than 23 minutes. Not enough yet !
BTW : what is the main difference between these 2 options, except the file size limit (if there's one) ?

- Finally, the WAV RF64 provides (almost !) unlimited recording length BUT an analysing tool I need to work on my recordings does not support this format ... Bad luck.

Once, I made a recording using SDR Console. All was fine BUT I realized it was impossible to read the files with SDR# (totally distorted audio, saturated waterfall, in a word the file was unusable).

I, of course, gave the basic 'recording' plugin a try and found that 11'40" was the longest file one could record

As you can understand, I'm going in circles ! To summarize my request: is it possible, with SDR#, to make long recordings without using the RF64 format ?
Thanks for your help.

Best regards,
Patrick

Just upgraded from R1716 to R1722 & trailing the community Installer package for the first time.

Thanks very much for the recent GUI works 'Prog' - very nice. I like the 'Crystal Dark' Theme as it's a nice balanced
low contrast & easy on eyes theme that can be used during both daylight or darkness hours.

One very minor GUI related bug (hesitant even calling it that really), okay I'll settle on 'odd behaviour' GUI that I notice with the Windows 7, 8, Visual Studio
2012 Dark (maybe more) themes relates to the right-hand side screen slider controls: Zoom, Contrast, Range, Offset.
If one moves the slider up from the base the vertical alignment is lost of the control; it moves left.
I use (still) Win 7 64.
Would also love to see the labels for these controls located a little closer to it's slider it's associated with rather than equal mid way (if looks okay?)

The following observation is for the Plug-In developer of the 'Audio Processor'.
Can the default setting for Bandpass Filter be unchecked in future please?
Took me several minutes trying to determine what was effecting the fidelity of the broadcast FM station I initially trailed with the new community package.

Look forward to plug-in developers altering their addons to fit the new SDR# GUI/skins as their valuable time permits.
I greatly appreciate your development work - thank you.

Version 2 of the shortcut plugin is the most current and now features an on screen display as suggested by Prog.

Thanks for your patience on the toolbar guys.

No.  The latest plugin released today relates to Shortcut keys which I currently
don't use.

I refer to the use of the SDRSharp.Toolbar.Plugin.dll which seems to be the latest available and which I downloaded a couple of days ago.  Otherwise toolbar was
working ok with Version #1716, and before.

Size 141,312 and dated

I'll try downloading/adding in the Shortcut keys plugin in the morning and
see if that makes any difference.

Re: SDR# Shortcuts Plugin...

Thanks for the suggestion Prog. I have added the OSD as you suggested and the plugin is ready for download on my website.

The OSD is set to only work when the radio is playing. This is because the custom paint event only fires when the spectrum is actively drawn on. This way I do not get my text remaining on the screen when the radio stops.

The text appears immediately when the shortcut key ismpressed and fades out after a few seconds.

Thanks again for your help.

For the time being all the shortcut keys are staticly mapped. There is a legend provided in the plugin to view key assignments.

I will try and code for user selectable shortcuts at a later date. I have a lot of other coding of older plugins going on and trying to finish the TMate2 controller plugin.

The shortcuts work only when the SDR# app has focus, even if the plugin or plugin panel are minimized (thanks Prog)

Hope it works well for all of you.
Thank you for this useful plugin!
Here's an idea: Add some On Screen Display (OSD) when a shortcut is detected.
The way to do it is to add a Paint event handler on the spectrum display and just put whatever message you want on the top layer.
The API is already there.

Another ToolBar Post

Day

Hi Guys

Have been using Toolbar plugin in various versions up to and including #1716.

Just loaded latest #1722   and find the toolbar is no longer visible.  The drop menu on the left
is part of the options shown, toolbar selected is ticked in the dropmenu,  and I see
in SDRSharp,exe.config contains

 <add key="LastUsedToolbar" value="0" />
 <add key="ToolbarEnabled" value="True" />

Updating  line to  <add key="LastUsedToolbar" value="3" />
makes no difference.

Something I'm doing incorrectly or a bug crept in ?

As long as you don't alter the messages, you should be fine.  You can add a filter that intercepts the interesting keys from the program's main message loop. Basically, always return false in the following function: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.windows.forms.application.addmessagefilter?redirectedfrom=MSDN&view=netframework-4.6
