Re: Problem trying update last firmware Airspy HF+

It's correct for your PC to recognise it as a Bossa port - you've erased the firmware, so it's no longer an HF+ radio.  Just run flash.bat again and it should upload the new firmware, then unplug and replug it.
That's how it works on mine.

Dave

Without log or a screenshot, there's no one on earth who can guess what you did. Send a screenshot of the flash window.

I´ve followed the guide of trubleshooting PC performance problems without success. Using cmd console and running "airspy_rx -r NUL -t 0"..the request
is "airspy_open<> failed. AIRSPY_ERROR_NOT_FOUND <-5>"
That's the troubleshooting procedure for Airspy R2/Mini. Again, read the instructions. Do not improvise.

I'm eager to test this tomorrow. I'm on 1.3 and today for the first time I noticed some ugly AGC pumping on MW on the HF+.

I am new to the HF+ but it seems to handle strong Shortwave signals without them showing up in the wrong places. I have been playing with your suggested AM bandwidth and looking at the IF at 10Hz to WWV and see if I can hone the Freq. Cal to a fine number. Takes a while for it to settle down. I am enjoying ALL your updates. Is there a tool to show EXT I/O to adjust Freq. cal. stand alone?

Keep up the great work. Cal...W1HHO

So, my Airspy HF+ is inoperative right now.

Suggestions are welcome!

Thanks Pete. That's very useful actually. AGC with Lower threshold seems to work good also. Can you post another similar video with the Preamp on?

I installed the FW update (without any problem at all).
So far I have done the usual MW/SW listening I normally do
without noting any regression. Haven't had a chance to torture
the HF+ with my e-probe but may get to that today. So far,
so good.

One thing that might count is that I did some MW listening
to a station with a very strong adjacent local. Typically
I'll switch to SSB in this case to avoid the high-frequency
modulation from the adjacent station. I can't say objectively,
and band conditions, etc., but it is possible that this
sounded better the bit I did last night.

Speed of the spectrum display in 1650 version OK. Thanks.

Running fine here 1650 version.
But still not mouse freq tunning on IF Spectrum like before.

Darn, just read the upgrade instructions only. Upgrade went flawless.

Is there anyone willing to share their experience with using the HF Preamp? What circumstances did you see improvement?

Cheers, Jaap

Ок. I have launched a new system and default settings for two versions. The behavior of the spectroscope in 1645 is still much better.

I use SDR# for Spyserver on the Raspberry and celebrates the worst behavior of the spectrum in the latest revision of the program. Watch video. In version 1645 the spectroscope is much more alive than that in 1647-1649. Hope this will help you for corrections.
How do you expect anyone to reproduce your custom configuration using a video?

Fixed in 1647. Windows decided that when a window is reduced, its size is zero - and the size is used to determine the RBW.

That's an understatement if I ever heard one !    I'm glad you see it that way.    I just joined this list in the past week, and the number of people posting questions that have been asked/answered/documented is astounding.   If you threw Linux into the mix, there'd be no end to the questions by those who do not use the Search facility.

Hi there !

You should consider  CSVUserList if you're a MW / FM DX'er or a shortwave enthusiast. Very easy to set up and run.
It provides amazing features. This clip does not show how it works but simply gives an overview of its interface close to SDR#.
For the curious, have a look HERE
