But if it goes wrong don't expect Moonraker to help you. Still there's always the R&D&manufacturing in China ;-(

For the sake of a few quid I'd sooner sleep at night and not be a skinflint. Yo ho ho

Not, fortunately, down to his last 50 quid

Yes but when customs get the incoming parcel they will add 5% duty to the HF+ price
and then 20% VAT to the total including the duty and shipping cost .....
So the actual price will be closer to $199 + 5% is $209 then $209 + $24 shipping (DHL to UK) + 20% is $280
which amounts to around 238 euro putting Wimo about the right mark for FULL price i.e. no discount coupons (however without shipping cost)
The biggest uplift comes from Moonraker as $280 (which includes shipping) equates to £213 but Moonraker's
standard price is £230 (without shipping).
It follows that buying direct from itead.cc looks at present the best deal for the UK.

For the UK, the Wimo price of 232 Euros equates to roughly £209 plus shipping, without any shipping.
Tracey,

Which includes tax. Around £33 VAT.

I missed out on the discount voucher but still only paid £161 inc shipping from Itead.
Which does not, best of luck!

So there is a fairly hefty mark up of over 25% if we use the main source for Airspy products in Europe.
I'm not complaining, just commenting on the situation.

Indeed. I rebuilt the server to disable the gain setting when in direct sampling mode. v2.0.1623.

It's called VAT.

Hi all,

Wimo just announced the availability of the Airspy HF+ at their web store and started accepting pre-orders at a very convenient launch price. This is your main source for Airspy products in EU.

Thanks!

Hi Jon,

You can't adjust the gain in direct sampling mode.

The only fix is to put an attenuator between the antenna and Dongle.

Thank you Dick!  Plenty to learn.

Appreciate you sending the note.

My guess is that spyserver is using only one of the n CPU’s.

Any chance you can interpret this TOP grab?
I am worried about the %93.1 or happy about the 74.4 id?

Every user session will take 12 ~ 13 % of one core. The FFT takes half a core, but only done once for all users, plus something for the OS and other processes.
This means you can probably stuff 20 users in that RPi (other memory bandwidth/bus limits will be reached before the CPU is fully utilized). This needs some testing.

That's it. You still have a lot of room for many users. Note that the FFT is calculated for all users and "sliced" for every session.
This means the first user will use almost one core of your RPi, but all the subsequent users will only require a small slice of one core.

I recommend you install htop and post another screenshot.

PS: think of sticking the unit to a specific band and set allow_control = 0

Hi Aldo

What initial gain did you use on your v3? When I tried mine with the Wellbrook, the front end was swamped. If I can get this right, we may have another online tonight. t will be replaced when the HF+ arrives....

Thanks

Jon

Hi Roberto,
I don't have frontend filter today.
Actual setup:
Ala1530> RTL-SDR V3> Raspberry pi3 (with linear power supply)> ethernet Lan > 20/100 VDSL.
Add 15dB attenuator overnight.

Aldo
