Airspy HF+ available at Wimo
#airspyhfplus
Hi all,
Wimo just announced the availability of the Airspy HF+ at their web store and started accepting pre-orders at a very convenient launch price. This is your main source for Airspy products in EU. https://www.wimo.com/airspy-hfplus-sdr-receiver_e.html Thanks!

Will stick a clean raspbian install on a card later and try it.

Good CAT and/or Omnirig Plugin?
Hello Airspy Friends:
I have been looking for a good CAT and/or omnirig for SDR#. An Omnirig Pluging would be GREAT for hams becouse SDR# could follow our Radio. Is anyone available? Thank's a lot.

Aldo, your server work very well... surprise for me clear signal on 7 Mhz with RTL-SDR dongle .. you have a frontend filter added or direct connection with Ala1530?  Witch band in  your internet connection?ÂSampling at 8bit @ 2.4 MSPS and decimating to 9.375 kSPS gets you 8 + 4 = 12 bits of resolution with ENOB very close to 12, which roughly what a good 14bit ADC would give you at the same final sample rate. Add some filtering and it should be perfectly usable as a budget receiver. That's basically what other 12 bit radios do.

Hi Prog, thanks for you're work on this,
You seem to have broken normal mode for me. Tried on both a raspberry pi 3 and and orange pi PC, both of which work with previous versions. Using RTL-SDR.com V3. If I try to connect when rtl_sampling_mode is either commented out or set to 0 then I cant connect with an error from SDR# 1622 'Server didn't send the device capability and syncronisation info' This is what the server reports :- Accepted client 192.168.55.101:57944 running SDR# v1.0.0.1622 on Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1
Device was sleeping. Wake up!
Found Rafael Micro R820T tuner
Disabled direct sampling mode
Acquired the device
Client disconnected: 192.168.55.101:57944
No clients using the device. Sleeping...
Released the device
If I set rtl_sampling_mode to 1 or 2 I do get connected but obviously in the wrong mode. Thanks John mm5aes. Â

Re: spectrum view/waterfall view speed
PMM
Any chance further down the line at looking to split the updating speed of the spectrum view and waterfall view so they are not linked in your SDR#
I like slowing the water fall down, but i don't like it slowing the spectrum display also. I think this would be a nice feature addition IMV - just something I thought I would mention :-)Â Many thanks for your excellent work so far. /Paul.

Hello Leif,
I second your thoughts and complete post writing. The problem is that I am the part of that culture pushing the receiver performance to the limits and beyond in the practice :-) As mentioned in some other forums, once you let the beast out from the cage it is difficult to control the beast, talking about VHF contests and level of the signals used. You know the history, why the 14MHz IF was preferred and all the crystal filters story but most of the users are not disciplined and this crystal filters may introduce extra problems and IMD if entering the crystal filter with too much power. As a rule of the thumb this should be not more than -10dBm and winding the radios, users are passing this figures. The other aspect is dynamic range and how much is enough for the everyday radio user. Well, soon after the IC-7300 was released, there was a shit storm going on that radio with a decent performance as there was the indication on the screen that the radio is overloaded. And, we are talking about the HF, not the VHF ! Today, even a hobbyist are looking for the top notch performances not spending a big money :-) It will be interesting to follow your measurements and results on this radio, mainly due to relatively low cost against the advertised performance. It will be interesting to see the reciprocal mixing effects regarding the quality of the local oscillator used in the radio. 73 Adam

Hi,
I can also confirm that the RTL-SDR direct sampling mode works very well. Thanks for implementing this, it will be very useful. Regards, Martin - G8JNJ

Better would be to have a central on-line repository where people can download the file that corresponds to the country they are in (or are visiting/interested in) and install that. S>
