Besides the US, HD-Radio is also used in Canada and Mexico. Not sure about anywhere else.

Hello Alan,

Yes, HD-Radio is a USA centric (or is that exclusive?) technology and yes, it's strange that there isn't much SDR software (free) developed in the USA either.  There are some programs out there that can decode DAB now but still, no HD-Radio.  If I was to guess, it has to deal with patents, licensing, etc.. but I would think this would be addressable via an SDR plugin with a sprinkling of DRM (shudder).

I still think there is a market out there for this though.

Thanks for the link as that was an interesting read.  That does bring up a question that I've been unable to find an answer to:

Why don't any SDR applications ideally on Linux (Gqrx) but even on WIndows programs (SDR#, SDR-Console, etc) support HD-Radio?

Is this a licensing issue?  Couldn't this be resolved via a commercial plug-in?  Maybe there is some available software that CAN do this?

Re: Android app

Why would you run an SDR in such a restricted OS? Get any cheap Windows tablet and run the fully fledged softwared on it. Not only it has more functionality, but you also have the processing power of a small desktop.
We have been all waiting for that platform to mature and be usable for productivity apps, but it looks like Google don't want it to be more than a gadget to consume its services.

Good afternoon!
Which is the most reliable Android app you run in order to utilize in best way AirSpy R2 in Android 4 or newer release?

Thank you!

A lot of thank's.

Doing some tests...in the future i will change to an Odroid.

Re: Problem trying to run Spyserver

For RPi3, 2.5 or 3 MSPS is about the right limit. If you use an Odroid XU4, you can fo with 10MSPS without problems.
I think the default configuration should work for all.

I didn't know about it.

I had to dist-upgrade to testing version of raspbian becouse we have gcc 4.x on stable.

Hi,

I'm pleased to forward some good news from COMINT Consulting. Now Krypto500 v.1260 supports the Airspy R2 + SpyVerter "combo" natively.
Krypto500 is a high performance software suite dedicated to narrow band signal analysis, classification and decoding.

Have a look on the official announcement here: http://www.comintconsulting.com/blog/new-krypto500-version-released-ten-10-new-decoders/

Support for the upcoming Airspy HF+ will be added and announced when ready. If things go well, the SpyServer can also be of the party.

Thanks!

The first thing to do is to read the quickstart guide. 99.99% of the questions asked in this forums have answers in the website, but people still prefer asking because it's quicker.
Then when you have read it all, think about installing GCC5.
