During the meeting, that will take place through ZOOM platform, We will present maps, photos and relevant data regarding the process of Palestinian history erasure and the process of Israelization of the landscape, and will expose ruins and memories that remained despite all. We are hopeful to witness brave conscientious objectors resisting the intentional ignorance enforced on them and choosing to see and acknowledge the truth of the Palestinian Narrative.  #BringingBackHope A group of over 60 high school seniors announced that they refuse to serve in the Israeli Army because of its actions against the Palestinian people and its contribution to social, economic and gender inequalities. Unlike past letters of refusal, these young conscientious objectors refer directly to the events of 1948 and the ongoing Nakba and clarify that "the actions of the Israeli Army in 2020 are nothing but a continuation and maintenance of the massacre, deportation of families, and dispossession of land by which the State of Israel was established.” They point the finger at the Israeli education system for erasing historical truths, they reject the framing of the Occupation as if it had begun in 1967, and they emphasize that there is no peace without justice and no justice without “ending the occupation, the lifting of the siege on Gaza and recognizing the right of return of the Palestinian refugees.” Kudos to these young men and women for such an imperative political statement! After seven decades of lies, hypocrisy and denial, this generation may have the courage and love to lead real change: give up patronage and arrogance, listen, study and acknowledge past injustices, heal, amend, and build together a just future.  We are immensely proud of each and everyone of you!   This is not the first of such letters historically, yet it is historical that for the first time, it addresses not merely the 1967 occupation, but also the 1948 Nakba, the “continuing Nakba”, and the “violent occupation” of “72 years”. That is, it visions and frames the 1967 occupation as a part of the whole Israeli endeavor since its inception, as in statements like this: ‘The actions of the Israeli military in 2020 are nothing but a continuation and upholding of the legacy of massacre, expulsion of families, and land theft, the legacy which “enabled” the establishment of the State of Israel, as a proper democratic state, for Jews only.’ Read the full letter in English signed by 60 Israeli senior year high school students in which they refused their compulsory enlistment in the Israeli military. סולידריות היא פועל שמתורגם לפעולה של הכרה ולקיחת אחריות ועל זה מדובר במכתב השמניסטיות שמחזיר את התקווה ועוסק לראשונה גם בסוגיית ההכרה בנכבה ותיקון העוול וסירוב כהתנגדות למחיקה. כ-60 בנות ובני נוער הצהירו מוקדם יותר החודש במכתב השמיניסטיות 2021 על סירובן להתגייס, מתוך התנגדות למדיניות ישראל, והצבא בפרט, כלפי העם הפלסטיני, לתרומה של הצבא לאי-שוויון ולניצול הכלכלי, לתעשיית הנשק, ולשוביניזם. בשונה ממכתבי סירוב בעבר, הצעירות מתייחסות ישירות לאירועי 1948 ולנכבה המתמשכת ומבהירות כי "פעילות הצבא הישראלי ב-2020 אינה אלא המשך ותחזוק המורשת של הטבח ההמוני, גירוש המשפחות, ונישול האדמות ש'בזכותה' קמה מדינת ישראל, מדינה מתוקנת ודמוקרטית, ליהודים בלבד." הן מפנות אצבע מאשימה כלפי מערכת החינוך הפועלת למחוק אמיתות היסטוריות, הן מתנערות מהנטייה של "מחנה השלום" למסגר את הכיבוש כאילו החל ב-1967 והן מדגישות כי אין שלום ללא צדק ואין צדק ללא "סיום הכיבוש, הסרת המצור על עזה והכרה בזכות השיבה של הפליטים הפלסטינים." גאווה אדירה בצעירות ובצעירים הללו על אמירה פוליטית נוקבת וחשובה ביותר! אחרי שבעה עשורים של שקרים, צביעות וטמינת ראש בחול יתכן שלדור הזה האומץ והאהבה להוביל שינוי אמיתי: לוותר על הפטרונות והזחיחות, להקשיב, לברר ולהכיר בעוולות העבר, לרפא, לתקן וליצור יחד מקום שווה לכל מי שחיים במרחב הזה. כל הכבוד לכל אחד ואחת מכן! על אזכור הנכבה, לראשונה במכתב סרבנים, אומר שבתאי לוין: ״אי אפשר לדבר על הסכם שלום ועל 67' בלי להבין שכל זה הוא תוצאה ישירה של 1948. כיבוש 67׳ הוא חלק ממורשת הנכבה. הכל חלק מאותו טווח של כיבוש, אלו לא דברים שונים״. לדברי פלדי ״כל עוד אנחנו הצד הכובש, אסור לנו לקבוע את הנרטיב שלהם על מה זה כיבוש והאם הוא התחיל ב-67'. בישראל השפה מוכפפת לתהליך המדיני. האיסור להגיד נכבה לא מתייחס למילה עצמה, זאת מחיקה של היסטוריה, של אבל וכאב. גזל הנרטיב מתיישב עם הגזל של המרחב הגיאוגרפי״. המכתב המלא. The truth cannot be silenced despite the recent and ongoing efforts of the Israeli education system to conceal it.   لا يمكن إسكات الحقيقة على الرغم من جهود جهاز التعليم الإسرائيلي الأخيرة والمتواصلة لاخفائها.   אי אפשר להשתיק את האמת. The state of Israel represented by its educational minister has recently issued an order to ban any human rights organization that calls Israel an Apartheid state from entering Israeli schools. This order follows the recent letter published by 60 Israeli high school students announcing their refusal to serve in the Israeli military, hence they will prevent anti zionist organizations from entering schools to provide critical analysis of the state of Israel and its military.   Denouncing human rights organizations, hiding books, censoring terminology, collecting copies of films ... This hysterical and foolish denial of the ongoing Nakba is doomed to failure. It is enough to read the last letter of the refuseniks (conscientious objectors) to realize this and acknowledge that the youth are much more clever and brave than those who think they are their leaders.   It is time to crack the wall of silence and stop undermining ourselves. Because to remain silent in the face of a nationalist and militaristic education system and its concealment efforts is to underestimate our ability to deal with the facts, to analyze trends and contexts, to understand complexities.
