"Add New Entry" Default Settings

Hi Mike,
When I use the "Add New Entry" (Ctrl-A) command the Log Window appears with all of my default fields properly populated. The cursor is in the Time field. Is there an option that forces the cursor into the Call field? I always enter the call first since most times I haven't actually contacted the station yet. I can't imagine how many times I've entered a call into the Time field in the heat of battle! I apologize if I've missed a simple option. Otherwise, XMLog is working perfectly for me! Hi Jim,
Make sure the set date and set time boxes are ticked in 'Edit New Defaults'. Mine works OK.

Below are my default settings. I haven't selected "Set Time to current time" since I haven't worked the station yet when entering the station's call into the Log Window. The cursor in is the "Time" field when Ctrl-A is hit. I'd like it to be in the "Call" field with the "Time" field blank since I may want to look up his heading, etc., before actually calling the station. What do you think? -- 73, Jim W7EED  |

The only two boxes I have ticked are set date and set time. The cursor defaults to the new call box when opened. I only enter details of a qso after I have completed. I then set the time manually.

Hi Jim,
There are no options to set which field is selected when creating a new entry. There are a couple of things you can do to make things a bit easier though: - You can double-click on the time field to set it to the current time (whether it's currently set or not). This also works for the Date field. Check out all the keyboard shortcuts using the Help/Display Keyboard Shortcuts menu item. - You can navigate through the fields using Tab and Shift-Tab, sometimes this is quicker than using the mouse to move to a field.
