I've had one small issue with Yahoo data twice within the last week, most recently yesterday.

For some reason Yahoo didn't return price, change or name data on XEL. Today it's fine. None of my other stock symbols have behaved this way. I work around it using TDA data when it happens.

Creating a web service to collect quotes from XLQ for consumption by charting packages like Metatrader

Hello,

Can someone guide me to how to create a web service to collect quotes from XLQ for charting in Metatrader or Ninjatrader ?

I don't mind if this is a paid service.  I have excel installed on a 64GB Ramdrive + 8cores 16thread + 4MB L3 cache per core, so I dont think speed will be an issue for a periodic pull of 2000 stocks, or preferable streaming.

Many thanks in advance.
AH

No, it is something I have been working  on along with other changes and will be released when ready. Hopefully next year.

Hi

Not at the moment, but will be possible in the future with expanded historic  intraday functionality.

For now, that would depend on your xls design, your computing power and your internet connection. If you are referring to thousands of intraday rows for thousands of symbols I think you will find it unmanageable. If you are referring to certain data points or calculated results only for the symbols it would be possible. You could also use vba or change cells with the refenced symbols etc. All depends on what you want to achieve. You can always try different approaches and find which is best.

Hello,

Can XLQ get data for a specific intraday time interval (rather than using the negative offset inputs)?  For example, if I want to get the volume that traded during the 5 min bar 10/7/2020 9:35 - 9:40 in AAPL, could I pull that data point by using the date/time as an input?

On a somewhat unrelated note, can I fill a spreadsheet with thousands of symbols to pull intraday historical data with IQFeed?  Or would I need to use vba to loop through my grid and fill it in?

Please let me know if further clarification would be helpful on either of these.

Thank you.

I had re-authorized my TD Ameritrade account a week or so ago but when I checked my Data Source setting today, the secure login setting was blank. I performed the secure login again today, did a Refresh All, and now my mutual fund prices are appearing. Still don't know why I was getting stock and ETF prices before I re-authorized TDA but it appears my problem is solved.

Hi

Just tried, and I can get data for those symbols from TDA. I am not aware of any issues with TDA data, and have not seen any problems, but will monitor more closely next week.

Leo thank you very much. Please forgive my confusion.

Re: Unable to retrieve partial week high and lows (IB data source)

Hi Dan

The partial week is returned via -1. 0 is a special case for daily data where it returns the current days data rather than historic and does not apply to weekly.

Hi there,

How would I retrieve partial week high and lows for an FX pair? I'm using IB so the formula I've been trying is =xlqhwHigh(FXsymbol, 0).

Default data source is set to IB and the above forumla is working for the -1 and -2 week highs, just not the partial. Is there perhaps a different way to get the current week high/low?

I was trying it today (thursday) so there should be partial data available.

Thanks
