Tape measure style Yagi using PVC and Ladder line.
Mike Hoblinski
I ran across this hams Version of the Tape measure Yagi antenna using PVC
pipe as the skeleton and Ladder line for the elements. Its probably a bit heavier than the tape measure Yagi but wont flop around when twisted. His version is constructed for a pole mount but could be reworked as a hand held or tri-pod mount. He uses a PVC C style clamp that the antenna the ability to rotate the boom between horizontal and vertical. i would not use a haipin match but a halfwave transformer
impedance of a folded dipole with parasitic elements is in the 200 ohms area .. so a halfwave transformer is the right choice the text in the homepage where you found the design has a fault ... a folded dipole does not have 450 ohm ... also not when using the 450 ohms window line (that in real is more 390 ohms or so) ... hairpin match does not provide balancing and is lossy compared to the halfwave line greetz sigi dg9bfc
