Scott Manley did a great video showing hobbyist SDR reception of the probe, and its doppler until the point that it stopped sending. From the doppler, it looks like it tumbled while still firing, was firing upside down, and that it hit the ground when the signal was lost and it was still expected to be above the surface.

We have not been able to establish communication with the #VikramLander; the orbiter is doing very well - there are 8 instruments in the orbiter and each one is doing exactly what it is meant to do;
