I’ve seen a simple cheap dual band yagi with the handheld attached to the boom, no driven element, just the handheld. Can’t find the plans again and I’m thinking it may be the only thing I can make qu

A brief intro, and let's start with a few questions!
To be a bit more clear, full duplex is a bit more than just ‘personal preference’. Yes, both can successfully used half duplex, but keep in mind you have no way of knowing if you are into the bird or

But Al here Is Is SO-50 to Work ...
Heh. I'd throw money in for one good satellite repeater rather than 12 cube sats with short lives and no ability to be usable repeaters. But when you do get your own bird up, I'll deliver as much Rohn

SO-50 Out of Control?
Just a couple points to consider: 1. "If you can't hear the satellite like a local repeater you shouldn't be transmitting at all". Respectfully, I disagree. - SO-50, specifically, may require transmit

Arrow Sat Antenna with 2 HTs
That is my usual setup often with a preamp on the receive, no issues with 'real' handheld radios...but, without the preamp, using the cheap Chinese radios, lots of desense. Via my iPhone
