Re: Recoding qsos

The ID51 has a recording feature built in. Just insert a micro SD
card in the slot, enable the feature in the settings and you are done.
It records both sides of the conversation.

Heil has a nice single-side headset-mic -

I like to keep things simple - use your smartphone as the recorder. No wiring to mess with!

I use an Olympus VN-4100PC, there are others out there also.

I wouldn't expect that I would have been that far off.  Send me an individual message with the frequencies he had.  Then I can say, Yep!  It was me, of I can say, WTF!

Good to Hear from you!

SO-50 Help

K9DWI

So... Today was my first attempt at the SO-50 Satellite.  I had great elevation, I could hear the repeater pretty good, and I changed receive channels for Doppler effect.

I was unable to hit the repeater on my 7-watt handheld and Arrow Antenna.  Do I have my transmit frequency correct?

Thanks...

I saw the same thing and entered it as I saw it. I guess I will make a second entry for just in case.

Re: Heard AO-91 today

Well, the stock antenna is perfectly fine for some ... But hearing a few hundred milliwatts from 400 miles away sometimes just doesn't impress one ... (g)

YES - Build yourself a tape measure beam!

Heard AO-91 today

Dave Mohesky

I have the ft60 with stock antenna. Not good at all. Lots of static. I will have to make a antenna and see how much better that is. If it's good, I'll buy a new one. Thanks for all the help.

I'll be back!

I use "ISS Detector". https://www.issdetector.com/  It's cross platform and easy to use. The free version tracks the ISS. For $3 you get all the satellites and other astral bodies like comets, etc.

Before I give up without starting:
I need ONE tracking program for the says. To me, none of them are easy to use. What sats should I track for fm voice. Just a couple for me to start with.

Re: Need help

Download HamSatDroid from your Google Play Store - it is
FREE and a great program!

1. Update your Keplerian data - the satellite data. (Under SETTINGS,
UPDATE KEPS.)

2. Set your HOME LOCATION (also under SETTINGS). If your phone
is GPS-enabled, see if that option works. Or try NEtWORK.
