BNC-to-SMA Adapter

K6LCS <clintbrad4d@...>

If you're changing antennas a lot on your new 'D72 - or any modern HT - you might want to consider a Gulyas BNC-to-SMA protective adapter.

These are made so that a thick "collar" of firm rubber mate against the case of
your radio - so that stress from attached cabling or antennas is mostly absorbed
by the rubber - and NOT directly transmitted to the delicate center pin of the
SMA antenna's connector on the PC board of your radio. (Personally, I believe
the Yaesu CN-3 adapter should be taken off the market - because it transmits
EVERY little tug and pull DIRECTLY to your radio's PC boards.)

It's really up to you - either change a lot of antennas without this adapter,
and budget for a $100 in a few months for a repair job to re-attach the SMA
center pin to your radio's PC board. Or spend less than $20 now and be
protected.

Stephen's Model # BGA-76 will fit your Kenwood TH-D72A radio perfectly.

I just looked at the presentation you offer online ... the page with the Guylas BNC-to-SMA adapters has "www.htantennas.com" as their source. But that's the Smiley Web site for the collapsible 270A antenna.

The printout for the Guylas antennas is on my site at ...

I'll check those two meeting dates to see if there's a bird between us to work!

Re: TH-D72 Setup for Satellite

John <jcalbano@...>

Understand that setup. On the B band the D72 says DUP and squelch is closed. On the A band the RX squelch is open.

As the sat passes, I have to change bands A/B then TX back again right? Is this how you work it?

Thanks for the info Clint.

DOUBLE YOUR DONATION TO AMSAT

K6LCS <clintbrad4d@...>

If you donate to AMSAT here ...

http://www.work-sat.com

... your contributions are DOUBLED. That's right - the next few contributors who send AMSAT money through my site will have their donation DOUBLED by K6LCS - up to another $100 and a deadline of midnight PST 12/24/2010.

After you use the PayPal system to donate, you must PRIVATELY EMAIL ME so I can double your donation - clint@...

SMALL PRINT - There is none. 100% of your donation goes directly to AMSAT-NA, less any PayPal fees they may incur. This is NOT an "affiliate" type of relationship - it is pure donations going directly to AMSAN-NA - K6LCS makes nada. Questions? Call me at 909-241-7666.

between A and B and the satellite passes. Maybe I have this all wrong.

If anyone knows how to set this up, please reply to the message. Thanks for the

Re: Can You Spare Five Bucks for AMSAT?

1. PayPal is being used for this campaign.

2. My participation is NOT as a type of "affiliate" account. ONE HUNDRED PER CENT OF YOUR DONATION GOES TO AMSAT - less any PayPal "merchant fees" AMSAT may incur. The folks using this AMSAT widget do not monetarily gain in any manner.
