Thanks for the group!
Whomever thought of making this group: many thanks. I'm not a Fb user, so I've missed out hearing about other people's activations etc. Looking forward to a KFF activating filled 2018 with you all. 73

What kind of antenna?
What kind of antenna do you all use if you are an activator? I have a LNR Trail Friendly End Fed and just got a Packtenna for Christmas. I use a 12m Spiderbeam pole with a homemade drive on base.

I use a Zero Five 43 foot multiband vertical at home and hustler mobile whips when I activate. Jess Question everything. Accept nothing as fact until proven. No one or nothing is above suspicion.

I use a doublet, made from speaker wire and some short sections of 1/2" PVC pipe, cut for 40m. Mason line is used to hold up the center as well as tie out the ends. The mason line is one one of these

Not an issue for me. I have a SpotCollector filter set up too look for text strings "POTA" or "FF" on the DX Cluster. Every now and then it passes a spot with the name "Jeff" in the comments but that'

New rules for 44 Qs?
That's unfortunate as it's going to make me much less likely to bother activating wwff refs. I was just getting in the habit of doing quick park activations when on road trips etc. I actually stopped

The upside to "CQ FF K4IZ FM18" is that it's a standard CQ message, not a free message. It doesn't mess with the automation. My only concern is whether "FF" is too ambiguous ... but if we were to all
