Great history Ross. I know Red Shipley played in some for those early games of the 50's and later called Hornet games.

Subject: [WJMA] TD story on WSVS

A friend sent me a link to a recent story on WSVS on the Times
Dispatch web site.
<http://www2.timesdispatch.com/news/2011/mar/28/tdmain01-tuning-in-to-history-ar-932019/>

In 1951 Don Green came to WJMA from WSVS. He left in 1952 to return
to WSVS. He was replaced by Joe Simmons who came from WSVS.

Tubby Walthall was also an alum of WSVS. Tubby became Station Manager
when Art Livick left. Tubby is credited with starting Orange High
School football broadcasts in the mid 1950s.
