Looking for Version 3.01 Boot ROM for 9000 425/433
I’ve upgraded my HP 9000 400s to a 433s by replacing the 68030 processor with a 68040. This means I also had to change the boot rom, the 1818-5108 rom on the motherboard wasn’t compatible with 68040. Long time ago I copied an image and a how to description from the internet, but that image doesn’t work also it has the same checksum as the 1818-5108. Next I tried the boot rom image from bitsavers (1818-4990) , that worked. But this is a Version 2.0 rom image. So now I’m looking for a Version 3.0 or 3.01 image for the 9000 425/433s. If anyone has a copy please let me know.

Rik,
I'll take a look at my 425t spare boards if I can pull the ROM. Achim

Rik,
I think I got what you need, but no possibility to copy the ROM. Let's discuss via PM. Achim

Glenn,
The 27C2048 is not a HP part-number, it is an generic component made by AMD and also made by other manufactures. And the 1818-**** numbers I mentioned are for the programmed boot roms. -Rik -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: VintHPcom@groups.io <VintHPcom@groups.io> Namens Glenn Little Verzonden: dinsdag 12 januari 2021 21:53 Aan: VintHPcom@groups.io Onderwerp: Re: [VintHPcom] Looking for Version 3.01 Boot ROM for 9000 425/433 Thanks.
