J. Birket 18Ghz out of spec "gold" gasfets
paul firmstone GW0MDQ
hi All,
I was wondering if anyone has used the out of spec GaAs fets from J. Birkett on 70cm and 23cms ? Not the "black spot" or "red spot" but the gold type ? (eg,,, no spot) About 20 years ago I built a preamp using the red spot device for 24cms TV and it worked quite well but I had no way of actually measuring the performance, at the time Denis G3UVR moved it from 23 to 24cm for me. Has anyone actually measured the gold type for 70cm and 23cm ? Would the effort be worth it or should I consider a better device ? Last question,, can the gold's be compared to any of the MGFxxx range for example ? thanks for your help... de Paul GW0MDQ |

Better use a non proprietary image format I think.
Or set your phone/tablet to use .jpg rather than the strange poorly-supported-outside-of-apple ".heic" files. 73. Dave G8KBV. |

I was able to see fine on desktop...but agree use a standard format He can pobably use a 1302/1402 or just about any older style GaAsFET ( not HEMT) Bary VE4MA/K7 On Thu, Mar 23, 2023 at 9:28 AM Dave_G0WBX via groups.io <g8kbvdave=googlemail.com@groups.io> wrote: Better use a non proprietary image format I think. |
