[Moon-Net] [UKMicrowaves] Kuhne MKU 10G3 settings

g4bao

I reported this last year and they released (to me only it seems) a v1.3 which fixed it. I suggest you email kuhne and tell them you want an upgrade and fix.
This version 1.3 seems to have broken the retention of settings changes as I described yesterday so you don't want that!.
I will do further tests on v1.3 today to confirm this then will also be contacting Kuhne for a fix. Please feel free to refer to my case with Kuhne.

Hi John,

I tried following :
Bridge Pin 23 & 24   and Pin 25 & 26  for RX to 10450       This worked OK RX goes to 10450 with 144 MHz IF, unbridging RX goes back to 10368 .
NO bridges for TX so Pin 17 to Pin 21 all Open for 144 MHz IF

I then tried TX  without ANY bridges ( so TX IF 144 for 10368 output  all is OK
With the bridges in for RX 10450 ,  TX GOES 2 MHz UP TO 10370 !

yes this seems a bug in the firmware, or am I overlooking something ?

By the way my firmware version is V1.2  ( not V1.02 )

OK well clearly they've broken it in my version1.03 firmware that was done for me to fix the issue with the frequency linking being broken in 1.02

Just out of interest, link yours to TX on 10368 and RX on 10450 with 144 IF and see what frequency you're actually  receiving on.

You might be surprised!

I'll email them tomorrow

Hi John,

I recently upgraded the MKU10G5 to V1.02 firmware.

To change the 4 different possible sequence delays :

Example to 80 mS

80D1  (answer A)
80D2  (answer A)
80D3  (answer A)
80D4  (answer A)

After power cycling and command S you see all parameters, the sequence delay has changed from 50 to 80 ms

I am also using the KU EDPU external display unit. I can change the SEQ parameters, power cycle and all is stored ( without any “ safe “ command )
If you like I can send you some screen shots.

I am using Tera Term as serial connection to the transverter.

Before I tackle Kuhne about this, (as I fear it's another firmware bug!!) does anyone out there know how to make the sequencer delays and frequencies (sent to the new G5 10GHz transverter via the serial port or Kuhne Suite)  "stick" ?

They seem to revert back to the factory defaults when you power cycle the transverter, unless I'm missing a serial command, link setting or other trick.

I do hope that these defaulting 50ms sequencer delays was not the cause of my blown preamp or I might get cross.....!
