Hi,
No, 80db is what I consider as the limit. I can hear strong spurs from beacon.s 600km away  and they are -60 dbc. And it is not weak.

That should have read 4153 not 4531 ... quite why they picked those numbers for related parts I have no clue ... probably just to trigger the latent dyslexia ...

I decided to go with a 2 loop solution ... a good Crystek VCO driven by a 4531 and a 4001 to lock the internal reference to an external reference, if it is available.   Low bandwidth loop filters make for a slow settling time, but should keep phase noise low.

I might even get around to building it one day ...
