OZ9 LO locking
John Fell
I have used one of these with no issues for several years but today it refuses to lockup .The onboard RED led is slowly flashing with 10MHz ref applied but the Kuhne 5.7 MK2 TVTR LO does not attempt to be locked . Anybody got the setup destructions for the OZ module ? 73 John G0API |

John, Without changing anything are you sure your 10MHz is strong enough Normally with no 10MHz the OZ module issues a quick flashing light. Mine has worked fine unless my 10MHz is not strong enough Dave G4IDR On Sun, 2 Oct 2022, 18:32 John Fell, <john.g0api@...> wrote:

OZ5N website reports the dreaded 404 Anyway even though the led is flashing it probably is locked, its worth looking at the control voltage to the varicap and see if its about 2V I think i have the instructions but someone may find them before me, sometimes i had to cycle the supply to the pll on off independently of the VCO supply to get lock cheers Geoff GI0GDP

Hi Dave, Yes first thing I checked and I tested with two separate 10GHz sources each in the +10dBm region on my Spec Ann. The LO is running with influence from the OZ unit and can be set using the DB6NT coil next to the Xtal , but the LO does not remain fixed as the unit is pulsing it's LED . 73 John On Sun, 2 Oct 2022 at 18:36, David Redman <davidredmang4idr@...> wrote:

Thanks Geoff - will look at the 2V in the morning . If all else fails I have a 116MHz synth I should be able to reprog and bin the existing LO and the OZ board . 73 John

Oops ! That should be 10MHz ref. not 10GHz - too much EME . John

John, Good Morning
I have an OZ5N Auto-PLL board surplus to requirements if it helps you “brand new in original bag” – no data sheet.
Happy to post out if of use?
