a big fat zero!

the ceramic cleaned up OK

the metal bodies remain tarnished and the anode coolers now
discoloured (dishwasher chemicals!)

so not successful here!

Afternoon Simon & Crew,
Sorry you did not have success with the dishwasher. The only downside I have sufferred was that some of the STC "Blue" coolers lost their colouring, the Siemans ceramic"BA type" with plain alloy cooling fins just occasionally lost the black printing. I had a word with the XYL and all she does is brush the cooling fins with a bottle brush and a little bit of washing up liquid before putting them in the dishwasher. Now you know why I married Her Hi Hi.
Regards to All

Afternoon All,
If you need to clean up the 2C39 Silver plating without any damage to the surface just pop them in Goddard's Silverdip and then rinse thoroughly under the cold tap and polish off with a soft duster,Bingo!!

Hi Ted

I just used some Brasso and a soft cloth - they have come up lovely.
The main problem was tarnishing due to smoking. It looked like
nicotine stains on the valves and the dishwasher didnt even touch it.

The main body of the amp was stripped today and the brass parts all
cleaned until they are nice n shiney. Have popped it all back
together and took the opportunity to take some pictures of it too.
